Letter to Prospective Students

bbi20091

THE 36th ANNUAL
BRETHREN BIBLE INSTITUTE
SPONSORED BY
THE BRETHREN REVIVAL FELLOWSHIP
2009

Dear prospective BBI student:

The 36th annual summer term of the BBI will be held on the campus of Elizabethtown College. The BBI term is scheduled for the week of July 20-24, 2009. Dormitory students should arrive on Sunday evening July 19, 2009.

Classes will be conducted from Monday through Friday. Each class will be 1½ hour long. You may take up to and including three courses. It is expected that dorm students take three classes, unless special arrangements have been made with the principal prior to the opening of the Institute. If you choose to take only one or two courses during the week, the price remains the same. The cost for the Institute for dorm students (including room, board, and tuition) is $200.00. The cost for students who commute each day will be $70.00. The cost of textbooks will be extra, but most classes do not use textbooks. Students will leave the campus after the Friday afternoon session.

A Bible Institute stresses concentrated Bible study, a deepening of the spiritual life of the individual, and practical training for Christian service. Each student upon satisfactorily completing the course of study will receive much benefit, but credits will not likely be transferable to other schools. However, Continuing Education Units are available to ministers at a rate of .75 for each course taken. Remember that BBI is not only for ministers and church leaders. It is for anyone who seeks systematic instruction in the Word of God. Admission requirements are not academically rigid. A student should be 16 or older. Even though he or she need not be a high school graduate, the student should have a sincere desire to search the Scriptures, and a motivation that will accept the discipline of study. All applicants must agree to abide by the conduct-standards of the Institute. The Statement of Conduct is here. The daily schedule at BBI each day will be as follows:

Chapel 8:10-8:40
1st Class 8:50-10:20
2nd Class 10:30-12:00
Lunch 12:10-1:20
3rd Class 1:30-3:00
Study 3:30-4:30
Supper 4:45-6:00
Recreation/Devotions Evening

We hope you will carefully read the enclosed information, and then fill out the application form and mail it to Brethren Bible Institute, 155 Denver Road, Denver, PA 17517. Applications must be received by June 22, 2009.

Sincerely in the service of Christ,
Ken Leininger, Principal
