2001 ANNUAL MEETING AT BERKEY COB

Beautiful western Pennsylvania will serve as the backdrop for the BRF General Meeting, to be held September 8 at the Berkey Church of the Brethren near Windber, PA. We intend to follow on the Annual Conference theme of revival with our focus on The Church of the Brethren and Revival." Speakers will be Craig Alan Myers (Blue River Church of the Brethren, Northern Indiana District), Samuel Cassel (White Oak Church of the Brethren, Atlantic Northeast District), and Donald Matthews (Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, West Marva District). There will also be reflections on the 2001 Annual Conference, a Chairman's Report, and an election for BRF Committee members. Bring a basket lunch; drink will be provided by the Berkey congregation.

A NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON ELECTIVE

Brethren Revival Fellowship has authorized the publishing of a new 13 week study of Brethren history and beliefs. The book (104 pages in length) will take a summary look at the background that led to the founding of the Brethren in Europe, the migration and beginnings in America, the move south and west in the new land, the lifestyle and beliefs of the Brethren, and the changes that have occurred in recent decades. Each chapter has about five pages of lesson text, a one page study of a Bible passage which is somewhat related to the lesson, and a page of suggestions for further research and discussion. We expect the books to be ready for the Fall, 2001 quarter. It will be best for each class member to have one of the spiral bound textbooks which will be available for a donation to BRF for $3.00 each.
